Emily graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in 2016 with a B.S. in Psychology. She was a very active athlete and serious volleyball player for 12 years, including a collegiate career all 4 years at BSC. Emily was first introduced to Pilates in elementary school, when she regularly watched her mother attend Jenny's Pilates classes. Growing up around fitness and being involved in many sports, Emily has always been interested in different techniques of exercise. In addition to being an athlete, she has always had an interest in exercise science and the anatomy of exercise. Naturally, she was drawn to Pilates due to the emphasis and importance of proper technique and alignment that are incorporated with each exercise, as well as the broad range of possibilities that encourage creativity within the workouts. Although she may not be new to Pilates, Emily is new to instructing classes and is extremely excited to share what she can bring to THE STUDIO!

Being physically active from a very young age, competing in gymnastics and cheerleading, it is only natural that Bently chose a career in health, wellness, and fitness! Growing up in nearby Scottsboro, she went to the University of South Carolina (Go Cocks!!) and the University of Alabama (RTR), cheering at both. Graduating from UA in 1995 with a BS in Sports Nutrition, Bently worked as a clinical dietitian and Nutritional Therapies Manager at HealthSouth Medical Center in Birmingham. She also started a weight loss and wellness program, under a physician's care, working with morbid obesity, dysmorphia anorexia, and bulimia. After having children, Bently turned her focus to fitness and became a trainer in 2013. She has taught step aerobics, body pump, and most recently boot camp, strength core and more, and geriatric fitness. Since moving to Huntsville in August with her husband and two children, Bently has been drawn to Pilates. She values THE STUDIO'S doctrine and loves the way her body has been transformed. She is excited to bring bootcamp to THE STUDIO in the form of Core Power.

Cara Fairburn has been a trainer with THE STUDIO since March of 2015 but has worked in the fitness industry for decades. At age 18, she began teaching dance for the National Cheerleading Association and studied dance and vocal performance at Eastern Michigan University. Her Pilates experience began in 2001 when she received her mat certification through Dan Tripp. After a hiatus from teaching to travel with her professional athlete son and hip surgery from a cycling accident, Cara landed at THE STUDIO to restore her strength and balance. She is now Reformer certified and primarily teaches private sessions with specialized clients. Cara recently received her boxing coach certification to train people afflicted with Parkinson's disease. "Fused with Pilates, clients are restoring their lives and bodies to include things they thought they would never experience again. I identify with that." Cara is a junior at the University of Alabama- Huntsville majoring in Kinesiology/Exercise Science. For recreation, she likes to snag some rock climbing, snowboarding, or hiking time with her husband and two college-aged children and play fetch with their spunky trail dog, "Alouette."

Jenny's Pilates career spans 44 years which began with her apprenticeship at age 17 under the tutelage of Ruth Hart, dance master and protege of George Balachine. She was a professional dancer for 11 years in NYC, San Francisco, Boston and Dallas. Simultaneously she earned a B.S from Mississippi State College for Women in kinesiology, dance and consumer psychology. Jenny was first attracted to movement as a healing mechanism for mentally and emotionally handicapped children. With her dance background she then turned her focus to movement for rehabilitation of injured dancers and athletes. To further her studies in this area, she completed an internship at Duke University in proper movement mechanics and injury prevention. From these disciplines Jenny has developed an approach to exercise and movement that is based in sound science and is accessible, safe and beneficial for all stages and challenges of life. One of her most rewarding work experiences was introducing the Pilates Reformer to the Middle East where she was the Master Pilates Trainer to the Saudi royal family for 9 years. Jenny has lived and worked around the world. She has owned studios in Florida, Indiana and most recently in Huntsville.  Jenny joined THE STUDIO in 2012 as the Master Trainer and head of the Instructor Certification Program.

Lindsay graduated with a B.S. from Auburn University in 2005. She began teaching group fitness in 2009 as a certified Spinning instructor, since then she has taught a variety of group exercises classes. Eight months pregnant with her 2nd child, Lindsay broke her ankle and subsequently fell in love with mat Pilates as a way to restore strength, flexibility and balance after pregnancy and injury. In early 2014 Lindsay visited THE STUDIO and was completely won over by the trainer's dedication to exercise science and the reformer's ability to deepen her work while fostering an inventive mind. Lindsay is certified by American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council on Exercise (ACE), TRX Suspension Training and received her Pilates certification from THE STUDIO in 2014. Lindsay enjoys challenging her clients to reach their full potential and transferring the joy she experiences playing on the Reformer!

Lorri began her career in the fitness field in the mid- 1980's. While living in Germany she taught aerobics and coached enlisted personnel for the physical fitness program. Upon returning to the US, Lorri continued teaching classes and sports clinics and earned several certifications in group fitness, personal training, nutrition, and mat Pilates. She also holds a massage license and a medical massage certification. A focus on proper body mechanics has always been the core of her work so reformer Pilates was the next logical step to add to her training. Lorri joined THE STUDIO in March and loves to run on the Reformer! She is also skilled at combining strength and functional training with work on the Reformer to help clients develop and maintain a strong and healthy body. In her spare time, Lorri loves to cook. She also loves spending time with her toddler granddaughter which helps keep her energy up for classes!
